20th Century Fox Supports Blu-ray's
New Copy Protection Scheme.
The new Blu-ray content
management system, AACS, is a state of
the art content management system that
is many times more powerful than that

new consumer usage models around network
functionality and internet connectivity

standard, is a new technology, unique to
the Blu-ray Disc, called ROM Mark. It
was designed specifically to thwart
large scale, mass production piracy, a
problem that is estimated to cost the
movie industry in excess of $3 billion
per year in lost revenue.

Hmm... Editing your DVDs?
New software called DVD ReMake Pro now
makes it possible to remove the unwanted
information from a ripped movie file.
This resulting file is small enough to
often fit on an inexpensive single layer
DVD, without any compression!
Other uses include changing the
appearance and navigation of a DVD,
fixing authoring errors, merging
multiple DVDs, or compiling a new disc
from bits and pieces of others. All this
can be done without the need for a
complete disc re-authoring.
